So much has happened in your twenties – you’re an adult, you’re not an adult – but at thirty it really hits home…….you’re an adult!  And your skin is starting to tell you so.  You are finding that the first signs of aging are now popping up and it’s disarming and annoying.  Not to scare you, but skin goes through a number of changes in your thirties and your products need to keep in step with the appearance of fine lines and dull skin.

Products you used in your twenties, probably even carried over from your late teens, may no longer address the upcoming changes and you may want to kick your skincare up a notch.

Cleansers used in the past may still work for you or they may begin to be more drying.  If you like your current cleanser but it is drying, we recommend that you boost your moisturizer as your skin may feel less hydrated.  But if your cleanser isn’t doing the trick anymore, we are recommending two cleanser products.  If your skin is in the normal zone or “all skin type”, Revision® Papaya Enzyme is a great choice (smells luscious too!!) as it contains papaya fruit extract which energizes the skin while Salicylic Acid removes dead surface cells.  It is rich in vitamins and minerals but also provides potent antioxidants with a Bixa Orellana Seed Extract.  If your skin leans to the oily, again a great revision cleanser choice is the Brightening Facial Wash.  With alpha and beta hydroxyl acids and skin-brightening botanicals, this wash exfoliates and brightens, leaving skin radiant and hydrated.

Next, hydrating the skin with a moisturizer is most important, along with proper sunscreen.  Our recommendation is Avene®, a marvelous product line developed in France – but it doesn’t carry the pricetag of many French skincare lines for your moisturizing.  Eau Thermale Avene® Hydrance Aqua Gel  soothes and detoxifies while hydrating the upper skin layers.  And as always, sun protection should be in the forefront of your care.  Utilizing any EltaMD® product is our recommendation but specifically an EltaMD® 40, which comes both tinted and non-tinted, allowing you to choose to forego your foundation if you wish.

Vitamin C is a gold standard skincare ingredient and in your thirties is when you should look to begin.  Image Vital C Intense moisturizer shields against dryness and environmental stressors while supporting the skin’s delicate moisture barrier.  Vitamin C and peptides work to promote the appearance of skin elasticity and firmness.  Vitamin C products are best paired with Hyaluronic Acid so it pairs well with the Avene® Gel.   At the same time, adding an eye cream such as Image AgeLess Total Eye Lift crème, is essential as that is where we tend to see our first wrinkle.  AgeLess visibly reduces the appearance of fine lines and has a retinyl glycolic blend that tightens the skin while soothing and hydrating with the help of chamomile green tea and coneflower.  While we are addressing the eyes, now is a good time to look at lashes – full lashes are on anyone’s wishlist and a more permanent approach is utilizing Latisse®Latisse is the first FDA-approved prescription treatment to enhance eyelashes for individuals with inadequate or not enough lashes.

And then we have the age old (no pun intended) question of Retinol.  In your 30’s this is not a daily use product.  Once or twice a week will have you looking 20 still.  Our thoughts?  Revision® Skincare’s Retinol Complete .5 which is time-released and a next generation formula to enhance your skin overall.
